G.I. Joe Wars is an upcoming 2017 military science-fiction crime action thriller film. It is a spin-off the G.I. Joe film series and the sixteenth film in the Hasbro Cinematic Universe. The film stars Shia LaBeouf reprising his Transformers series role, Sam Witwicky. In audition to LaBeouf, the film stars Evan Peters, Scott Foley, Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton.

G.I. Joe team captain Duke does not appear in G.I. Joe Wars. Duke is shown in pictures and mentioned by name several times throughout the film. The film's storyline takes place in the same time line during the events of the third film, G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

In G.I. Joe Wars, Sam Witwicky is a member of G.I. Joe code named "Engine Block". He and his team of Joes must run for their lives once Cobra operative Zartan's actions frame G.I. Joe as terrorists.
